OCTOBER

LIVERWORTS

📍Verkiai Regional Park, Vilnius, Lithuania

In October, we spent time with the liverworts along the Verke rivulet in Verkiai Regional Park, Vilnius.

Liverworts emerged when Earth was a bare rock. Persistent and hardworking, they paved the way for countless other forms of life.

Liverworts are stubborn beings who see no need to alter their ways. For over 400 million years, they have remained unchanged and are devoted to what they do best: basking in moisture and turning sunlight into life.

This time, the liverworts nudged us to try something new. Alongside the images, we’re sharing our voices — observations collected in Lithuanian, a language as grounded and enduring as the liverworts themselves.
